Documents generated automatically

Generate documents in FastBill automatically from your Shopify orders. You choose the moment for each document type: when an unpaid order is created, when it is paid, when it is fulfilled or when any order is created.

B2B with native VAT ID collection

Collect your business customers' USt-IdNr. natively at Shopify checkout. It goes onto the invoice, and EU business customers with a VAT ID get reverse charge invoices with FastBill's reverse charge note.

SKUs on your documents

Show the product name, the SKU or both on your documents, and send the SKU to FastBill's article number field.

Refunds and cancellations handled

Generate a credit note automatically when an order is fully refunded or cancelled, and the invoice is set to cancelled in FastBill. Partial refunds are not supported.

Smart exceptions

Skip the orders you do not want an invoice for: orders with a given tag, POS orders, orders paid only with gift cards or orders with a zero total. You can also generate invoices for everyone, only for companies or only for individuals.

Taxes as on the order, including OSS

Tax rates and amounts go onto the document exactly as on the Shopify order. OSS for EU cross-border sales to consumers is handled by FastBill.

Orders from Shopify POS get documents the same way as online orders, with the same triggers, document types and settings.

Which documents can the app generate in FastBill?

Are invoices generated automatically?

Yes. You choose the moment: when an unpaid order is created, when it is paid, when it is fulfilled or when any order is created. You can also generate an invoice by hand from a Shopify order.

What happens when I refund or cancel an order?

When an order is fully refunded or cancelled, a credit note is generated in FastBill and the invoice is set to cancelled. Partial refunds don't generate a credit note.

Does the app handle B2B, reverse charge and OSS?

Yes. Your customers can enter their USt-IdNr. at Shopify checkout and it appears on the invoice. EU business customers with a VAT ID get reverse charge invoices, and FastBill handles OSS for EU cross-border sales to consumers.

Which FastBill plan do I need?

An active, paid FastBill plan. During a FastBill trial, FastBill only sends emails to the account owner. Once the plan is paid, they go to your customers.

Which currencies are supported?

Invoices are generated in the currency your customer paid in on Shopify.
